Description
The Museum has the wings “The Bible in Art” that includes paintings, sculptures and ceramics, and “The Bible in Print” – Commentaries on the Bible and Apocrypha; books on biblical criticism, history, geography and archaelogy; maps and photos of the Dead Sea Scrolls; Bible legends, songs and quizzes. Translations of the Bible into many languages. The Bible in games, on stamps and on coins. Models of the Temple.
An annual event in the Museum is the exhibition of “Israel’s Painters Paint the Bible” in cooperation with the Association of Painters and Sculptors, and the exhibition on “Israel’s children paint the Bible” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture. There are constantly changing exhibitions by Israeli and foreign artists on biblical subjects. It’s a tradiditon of the Museum that children from Tel-Aviv’s non–orthodox elementary schools receive their first Bible here.
There are regular monthly lectures as well as study groups on biblical and allied subjects.
