"Nitzan Haifa" was founded in l984 by parents and volunteers in order to locate, diagnose, advance, take care of and help children, youth and adults who suffer learning disabilities, adjustment and functional disabilities.

The exhibition presents a collection of paintings, which were created by members of "Nitzan Haifa" hostel and club in the frame of their treatment.

The professional eye of the learning disabilities attendant can reach and diagnose the emotional world of the patient. The process can enrich him, remove barriers for him and provide him with the opportunity to express his emotional world through art. It also exposes the cognitive difficulties of the patient and hence these difficulties can be alleviated.

Art therapy benefits all ages of the population who suffer from a wide range of disabilities. This therapy focuses on bringing out the patient's inner resources and on building and developing them further.

There are no prerequisites for the art therapy program. The art work reflects thoughts and emotions as expressed through shape, color and composition.
